Deafness Awareness Talk at Madeley Academy

Deafness is a condition that affects the ability of a person to hear sounds. It can happen to anyone irrespective of age or gender.

It’s also important that parents and educators teach and raise awareness for children so they can better communicate with them.

There are many causes of deafness such as genetics, exposure to noise, some infections, and ageing.

Some common symptoms of deafness are difficulty in hearing conversations and ringing noises in the ears.

There are many preventive measures that one can take to avoid this condition. These include avoiding exposure to loud noises like those from loud headphones, construction sites and concerts.

One of the talks given recently to years 9 & 12 at Madeley Academy went really well and the students provided some feedback
